Pool Decks

If your considering buying a pool it might be a good idea to have Sunburst decks pay you a visit first. Since we have built hundreds of pool decks we can assist you with determining the best location for deck access. We can also help you avoid some potential pool problems.
Pool deck construction is completely different from a standard deck. Since most pools are round or curved you will need more posts and the joist framing has to reflect the pools construction. What that means is that we have to build the deck to match the pool level or not. Pool decks should be left to experienced pool deck builders. The minimum size pool deck that Sunburst decks will build is an 8' by 12'. This will allow you to access your pool and if your going from an existing deck level to the pool deck level it will give you room for the stairs as the picture shows.

As you can see in the picture to the right a 8' by 12' deck isn't much room. When deciding what size or design deck you might want for your pool there are a number of considerations.
1. First of course is your budget. Since even a small (3 foot) walk area completely around your pool requires a large number of posts.
2. Do you just want access to your pool, a larger chair, table or storage area, or a complete walk around deck to ease access and cleaning.
We have provided pictures to help you decide which design is best for you. Another consideration is how the deck meets the pool lip. Since we have built hundreds of pool decks we can explain to you the best method. Again this is something that is best left to experienced pool deck builders. The pictures below will give you some ideas.
