Composition combines the natural beauty of wood and the durability of plastic. Made entirely of reclaimed plastic and wood fibers the product claims it will not splinter, crack, decay, or be attacked by insects. It will require periodic cleaning however.
    The deck frame still has to be constructed out of treated lumber since the composition lumber can not be used for framing. The treated wood joists have to be spaced closer since the composition top boards and rails tend to sag down. The addition cost to reinforce the frame and the additional cost for the composition wood will add about 50% to your total project cost.
