Above the ground decks with footers!
The best example of an above ground deck with footers is this simple front porch. This deck uses solid boards to close in the bottom hiding the old red brick porch and steps that we've hidden instead of removing the porch. If there was no porch to hide you could leave the bottom open or use lattice.
Below is a grill bump out that we added to a simple above the ground deck that we have added to change the boring rectangle shape and to add floor space to the deck by moving the gas grill to it's own area.
The number of options are almost unlimited. If you have a small area you can spice up your deck with built in benches, angled boards, and fancy steps and landings as this picture shows. Of course angled boards require more labor so the cost will go up. Sunburst can assist you with design and even help you with your hot tub or pool needs as seen in the lower picture and pool deck area. And can even add an open gazebo, screened gazebo, or enclose your hot tub.
